Streaming

I have a PS3 which I use to stream films wirelessly over my network from my NAS. Doesn't work as well as it used to, but that's a different thread in the PS3 forum.

I have recenly got a 2nd hand PSP and decided to try and watch a film on it. I tried two ways. One was to copy the film to the PS3 and stream to the PSP. The other was to use the remote play to connect to the NAS and watch directly.

If I do the latter, does the film stream from NAS to PS3 and then from PS3 to NAS? Of straight from NAS to PSP? If it's rhe former - I assume that the chances of network stutter and lag etc are increased?

Re: Streaming

There is no shortcut of route to the PSP ie it will go from NAS-PS3-PSP. If you have lag/ stutter on the ps3 it will just trasnfer over to the PSP.

You can get a PSP streamer with CFW/ Homebrew - it will stream direct from a soure ie NAS.

Re: Streaming

To remove stuttering in movies connect to the PS3 via remote play using the internet connection option rather than than the private PS3 network option .

The downside is lower quality youtube like video, but this shouldn't be an issue when viewing on the PSP screen.
