Re: Help a newbie to mod a psp

I will follow with interest as my PSP is a 2003 with date 8C and firmware 6.10 (as is yours i believe) and I didn't think they were hackable.

I think you will definetly need the pandora though as you need to backdate the firmware. I think mine shipped with 3.95 or 4.01 but I can't be sure as bought it second hand.

Can your PSP have Custom Firmware installed? - Atma Xplorer

Have a read through this to see if it is possible to install cfw on your psp. If you can then you will need a pandora battery and magic memory stick as you can't use the chickhen method.

if its hack able see post above, you will need a Pandora battery or Datel Tool these are widely available off the net, a magic memory stick which you can create yourself with a standard memory stick pro duo and a bit of software called "Rain's ultralight MMS"
I can PM you a step by step guide if you need one

Re: Help a newbie to mod a psp

i have a slim psp with OFW 6.10 and 8C and its non hackable

there away to tell if you have the v3 motherboard and are on 6.10 but you need a psp running CFW to create some files on the memory stick

Re: Help a newbie to mod a psp

you don't need a PSP with CFW to create a magic Memory stick, just use something like "Rain's ultralight MMS"

i didn't mean to create a magic memory stick i meant a stick to test whether CFW can be installed
there is a guide where u put a 3.90 and a 4.05 file on the memory stick and use getipl program and this way you can identify if your motherboard is an unhackable ta-088 V3 and you need a CFW psp to do this

here is the guide
http://www.consolespot.net/forums/ps...dentifier.html

i tried this and it confirmed I have a v3 mobo
