Dunno if anyone can help - I'm on GEN-B2 and trying to get to GEN-D (or d2). No matter where I download the update from, it always displays as corrupt data when I go to run it.

I'm just placing the eboot.pbp in the PSP>GAME>UPDATE folder and have 550.pbp in the root of the memory stick. Not had this problem before in the 3 years I've been updating my PSP.

I've tried it from psp-hacks and pspslimhacks.

Any thoughts..?

What you need is the latest (Gen-D2) and not Gen-a.

Just download it and put the update folder in your system - game folder.

Make sure you have the 550.pbp file in your root folder as well..

File Details-Custom-Firmware-5.50GEN-D-PSP -

CLick on the small orange download

Also after updating to GEN-D you might want to download the following as well:

File Details-CFW-5.50GEN-D2-Quick-Updater-PSP-Homebrew-Applications -

which is a small update to gen-d (d2)

DO NOT DOWNLOAD GEN-C AS IT WILL MOST LIKELY KILL YOUR PSP

Seems like a bad flash. You can't create a pandora battery out of your Slim battery, at least not through a softmod.

Only way to revive your friend's psp is by flashing new fw on it through pandora. Recovery mode will not work either.

You can give it a try by booting up and pressing the R shoulder button. If you get through to the recovery mode you can use Hellcats recovery flasher to repair it.

Else just get a pandora battery off the net and reflash it again..

Thanks for that Scotty went through and it seemed to make the memory stick ok. Tried it in a psp that i updated to 5.50 gend to test the card with my pandora(plan was to reflash it and then do the updates again to test the magic memory stick) but no joy after following the instructions on the readme file regarding holding left trigger down. Any advice pal or am i doing something wrong. Thanks again

What were the symptoms, did any lights flash etc?

What operating system did you use to create the MMS? I always use XP as Vista and above can be an issue.

The memory stick must be 4GB or smaller and must me genuine e.g. Sandisk or Sony no clones from fleabay or memory adapters

Hi Scotty sorry not replied sooner had net access probs. The psp i tried it on was one already flashed and updated to 5.50genD2. Can you only flash with magic mem/pandora on an unflashed psp or try what i put in previous post. No lights appeared & got no response, just a black screen also tried on my mates, same symptoms but his was also a 5.50genD2. I used xp and the card is a proper sony 1gb, when trying to make it everything went fine and said mms ok at end of the procedure. Any thoughts and once again thanks pal.

You don't need it if your PSP already has CFW.

If it's loaded with OFW, then you'll need it

As has been said, you only need a Pandora if the PSP is on original Sony software.

You can't go straight to latest GEN-D2 firmware, you need to update to the one of the newer M33’s then you can update to GEN-B2 and then to GEN-D and finally GEN-D2

Very odd, the Pandora and MMS should work on any of the flashable PSP's.

If the orange memory stick light doesn't flash then its not finding the IPL (boot) sector on the memory stick
If the green light doesn't light then the battery isn't charged or not recognised

Is the Pandora battery an off the shelf product (Datel tool)?
Do you have another memory stick pro duo less than 4GB, if so try formatting it on you PC before you build the MMS

Hi pal the pandora has been used before so i know its worked, got it from dealextreme. I have another memory stick and have made (a magic one hopefully, using that prog you sent me) but via usb connection and not in psp. Everything went smoothly creating mms. I probably won't be able to get access to a psp until early next week, as i don't have one. Ref the orange and green lights i got nowt when i tried last week. I'll try again and post back if no joy. Once again Ta mate

Tried to flash psp with rain mms made mms but no joy (tried 2 different sony cards). No response from psp and i am a bit stumped tbh. Is there any other software like that to make mms from or can anyone do a mms card for me if i sent it to them in the post. Did have one with 3.8 on which worked fine until i tried to update it to 5.0m33 so didn't have to do loads of additional software mods. Wish i'd just kept that and carried on with the upgrades. Any suggestions guys. Ta
