Hi all - I want to encode some films to watch on my PSP - havent done this for a while, I used to use PSP Video9 which was OK, but a little buggy.

That's about it. It's usually a 2 part process, first the DVD will be ripped and secondly that will then be converted into something a PSP understands. Though usually many all-in-one bits of software will do them both in one go. Then you'd have to connect up your PSP or Memory Stick and transfer the video accross.

You don't need to have custom firmware, but you do need to put the converted video into a certain directory on the PSP, I think it's /PSP/VIDEO.

Re: Best PSP video encoding program?

What's the quickest software for doing the encoding. I was using videora last night to convert some avi to put on my PSP and it was taking ages. My computer isn't the fastest but I use MKVtoVOB to convert .264 to VOB files for my PS3 and that process maybe takes 10 minutes max.
