A few questions before buying

As per title:
Can you play movies / music with the unit in the closed position? I guess you have to open it to start it but can you close it & playback continues?
Can you use Dual Shock 3 to control the unit / play games? If so do both analogue sticks work or only the left?
Can you connect Bluetooth headset & use Skype?

Thanks in advance for any quick responses as I want to buy soon in order to take advantage of free Gran Turismo.

Yep you can, the L & R buttons then allow you to cycle through music/video files.

Yes you can register and use your dualshock 3 contoller, the right stick may work but assuming no games make any use of it - we'll never know!

Yes, I have my official sony one connected, can also act as a wireless headphone for all your game/movies.

Re: A few questions before buying

Hi all, thought I would re-use an old thread instead of starting a new one, Its my 30th in a couple of weeks and am looking to get a psp go, just wondered how everyone was getting on with there "go"? Will be using it quite alot for watching converted dvds, has anyone tried watching films on them yet?

Thanks in advance

I've watched Transformers on it, and it looks fine. I wouldn't use it a lot for movies, but it's definitely very watchable on the screen. The fact that you can store the bones of 40 films on it without anything extra is a plus.

Finally got a Go! as my local Gamestation did a deal that ended up costing me £168.
Used mates PSP 1000 to register for the rewards scheme & have dowloaded the Go! promotion theme so am currently waiting for my 4 free game codes.
1st impressions are very good! Screen & analogue nub are big improvements over the PSP 1000 & I was very surprised by how light the unit is - it's definitely portable which is perfect for me as I travel a lot.
Couldn't resist Tetris & think I'm gonna have to get Super Stardust for my trip to Moscow next week...

I've decided to treat myself to one of these:

Who does the best deals at the moment?

My 4 year old son has an old model, can I use this to get 4 free games?

Can the 4 free games and any other games I buy from PSN be downloaded to my sons PSP (as well as the go)?

Many thanks.

1.Not sure on the best deals, most online retailers have the Go at £199.

2. Yes, as long as it hasn't been previously registered for the reward scheme. You will get 3 free games for the rewards and 1 free until the 10th Jan out of Assassins Creed, Motorstorm or Gran Turismo.

3. Any game you download can be played on up to 5 machines, you just need to have the same psn account on each (I think).

4. Remember when buying games on psn to get the £20 vouchers from zavvi, they are under £16 on there, effectively giving you a 20% discount on everything on the psn.

Oh, and enjoy it

The 4 free games will only work on the Go I think, but any others you buy will work if you follow number 3

I went to get one today, didn't realise they were £225 on the high street!!

Will have to order online instead.

Is the free games offer on until 10th Jan?

I've noticed some people say they got 6 free games, were they just lucky or is that still possible? (Love a bargain!!)

Cheers all.

Merry Christmas.

If you use the PSP 1000/2000/3000 upgrade to PSP Go scheme you get 3 free games. Think this is until March.
If you download the specific PSP Go theme from the store you get 1 free game. Think this is Jan 10.

They are £200 at Tesco in store. GameStation will match that price.
