Get three free games with PSPgo Rewards*

LONDON, 24th September, 2009: To celebrate the upcoming launch of the latest model of PSP™(PlayStation®Portable) Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) is pleased to announce a special promotion to help existing PSP owners with UMD®s (Universal Media Discs), to start their digital games collection for PSPgo.

If you enjoy your PSP, you’re going to love the all-new PSPgo. Say hello to entertainment in your pocket as the sleek, slimline look of PSPgo comes packed with 16GB of built-in storage space – meaning that you can take all your favourite games, photos and more with you wherever you go. And to help you get your PSPgo collection started, we’re giving away three full games for free.*

With PSPgo Rewards you can download three much-loved, or totally new PSP titles for free, and put your new PSPgo to the test. Pick your favourites from a number of popular PSP titles. Get in on the action with Killzone™: Liberation or SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3. Give your reflexes a pounding with WipEout® Pure. Put your skills to the test with Everybody’s Golf™ or echochrome™. Give your brain a workout with Buzz!™: Brain Bender or Master Quiz. Or get quirky, with LocoRoco™ or Patapon™. There are seventeen titles to choose from in all, and the process is simple...

1. Unwrap your shiny new PSPgo and start it up

2. Connect to PlayStation®Network and activate your new or existing PlayStation Network account for PSPgo Rewards

3. Start up your current PSP and connect to PlayStation Network

4. Login using the same PlayStation Network account , and launch PlayStation®Store

5. Pop one of your UMDs into the drive of your current PSP and register on PSPgo Rewards when prompted

6. Download a PSPgo theme

7. Wait for your email voucher for your three free games

8. Choose, download and enjoy!

PSPgo puts you in control, because you can download and store your choice of entertainment. It’s about what you like to play, what you like to look at, what you like to watch and what you like to listen to. And with an ever increasing range of services from Skype® to the soon to launch PlayStation Network Video Store and Digital Comics, plus remote access to your music, photos, videos and more on your PlayStation®3, PSPgo is entertainment without barriers. Be entertained in style - wherever and whenever you are - with PSPgo.

Promotion starts on 1 October 2009 and runs until 31 March 2010. Promotion open to owners of a PSP-1000, 2000 or 3000 and at least one UMD, when they purchase a PSPgo. Titles may vary by territory and age restrictions apply.

Re: 3 free games for existing PSP owners when they buy a PSPgo

Not bad, not bad - except I sold my original PSP! D'oh! sure I know someone who will have one laying about though

but only 17 titles? I mainly play the more obscure stuff on my PSP. the article confirms the following games :

Killzone
Socom
Wipeout
Everybodys Golf
echochrome
buzz
master quizz
loco roco
patapon

So a further 8 to announce, I'm holding my breath for GTA & God of War.

Do you think this is the answer to there trade in program?

Of those I would most likely pick Killzone, Wipeout and Everybody's Golf although it depends what the other 8 titles are.

It may well be their solution for existing UMD owners although it is a bit convoluted and as you say won't work unless you still have your old PSP. Luckily I still have my old Japanese white PSP-1000. If I didn't still have it two of my nephews own PSP's so I could borrow one of theirs.

Ive had this stewing with me today and for me it's a good deal, I thumbed threw my small collection of games and could find 3 games I would play again. Gaming is just one of the many reasons I'm getting a Go specifically.

But for people with large collection? how do you choose 3 games?

Also from that list it appears its only games from Sony themselves, so no GTA. Also I prey that were at least offered loco roco and patapons sequels.

1 week to go, still not sure what I will be saying in 2 weeks time but I shall remain positive.

EDIT : Full list released, found on Joystiq -

Killzone Liberation
Medievil
Wipeout Pure
Buzz Brain Bender
Buzz Master Quiz
SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs: Fireteam Bravo
Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters
Everybody's Golf
Resistance: Retribution
Syphon Filter Dark Mirror
Lemmings
LocoRoco
Patapon
Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow
Echochrome
Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice
Daxter

Re: 3 free games for existing PSP owners when they buy a PSPgo

I tried registering several of my US PSP games ( all my existing PSP games are US ) in my Japanese PSP 1000 using my UK count but kept coming up with an error message. Either it's because I have a Japanese console or because I am trying to use a US game. I think tomorrow I will have to go to my local independent game shop and pick up the cheapest second hand UK game and try it with that. If I can get a wi-fi connection in the store I'll see if I can just borrow one for a few minutes.

Re: 3 free games for existing PSP owners when they buy a PSPgo

Which 3 games did people choose then?

I'm thinking of going with Resistance, Ratchet & Clank & Pursuit Force .

Decisions decisions, Ive played through Daxter and highly recommend it. I wonder if they will add more titles to the deal in the future as the offer is open till march next year? might hang on to 1 or 2 codes.

This offer runs till March 2010, so could i register for the codes and just wait/hope that they add to the list or do you need to do it right away?

When I spoke to Tescos they mentioned that they sold out of all their initial stock and it was mentioned in another thread that HMV orders have moved to 'awaiting stock' suggesting they were sold out.

Can only mean good things for us Go owners

Re: 3 free games for existing PSP owners when they buy a PSPgo

I'm not having any joy with this.

Followed the procedures but keeps coming up with ' No Content found'
It's a white PSP2003 model.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Re: 3 free games for existing PSP owners when they buy a PSPgo

The way to sort out that problem seems to be to login again with the PSPGo, and then with the original PSP immediately afterwards.

The problem is I am now getting "This game cannot be registered (805512E4)". This is a UK game on a US PSP, so I am wondering if that is the problem.

I had this problem (after finally being able to connect which I couldn't do for ages whilst the PS Store was down the other night!) and I discovered it was because I hadn't downloaded the PSPGO theme, ensure you have downloaded the PSPGO theme then try again and you should find it works - least it did for me!

The instructions Sony show online are not 100% correct,I think that is why it is causing confusion for owners. Got my code this morning for the 3 games, chosen Resistance (because it is the only £25 game out of the list, and Ialso wanted it) and Daxter.

Got my codes today. Thinking of Resistance, Killzone and maybe 1 of the Syphon Filter's... not sure which one though. Shame neither of the GTA's are on the list.

I also cannot understand why Fifa 09 is the same price as Fifa 10 . . . ho-hum!

Re: 3 free games for existing PSP owners when they buy a PSPgo

Interesting development when I tried to make use of my codes last night... GT downloaded just fine, however when I tried to use my reward code for the 3 free games after logging in to playstation store and redeeming the code it kept coming up with the message that thetre was "no content available for you to buy at this time".

I was able to successfully redemm for Killzone Liberation and Syphon Filter Dark Mirror, however Resistance Retribution kept coming back with an error code so I was unable to download.

Strange!

I had the resistance problem, but I switched off the PSP Go. Switched on and went back into the store, went to downloads (not entering the voucher code), and resistance was listed there as it was assigned to my account. I then tried downloading that way, and it worked.

Think I've had some success.

Tried again last night and managed to download the theme on both the Go and the old PSP.
Came up with a down load, done that successfully.

One thing I wasn't sure about, is it 1 UMD for 3 Codes? or do I need to repeat the process another 2 times?

Thanks

Its one UMD for one code, the code entitles you to 3 free downloads from a set list.

iownloaded 2 so far (Killzone & Syphon Filter DM) and will try Resistance again tonight.

Next time you access the store on your GO, if you enter the reqards section you should see two slots occupied by the themes you've downloaded (1 x GT and 1 x PSP GO theme). If they are there then it looks like you have done it all correctly and you should get your codes via two separate Emails within a few days. Mine arrived in less than 48 hours.

I have to say on a personal note, I'm loving the go. Don't find it uncomfortable to use, the games look (imho) sweeter on the slightly smaller screen and the poscket size with no need to lump around these flimnsy UMDs is a real bonus for me!

I'll give that a go tonight...

Re: 3 free games for existing PSP owners when they buy a PSPgo

I have managed to register using a different UMD.

I got a confirmation message that said something like, 'Please go to the PSN store to download your game'.

The only thing that I am confused about is the PSPGo theme which needs to be downloaded. Is this the GT one, as that is the only one I can see? If so, do I need to download it onto the Go again?
