PSP problems

Hi,

I am having problems downloading demos from the psp store. I dont know if this is anything to do with it, but i bought a 16gb memory stick pro duo (magic gate - mark 2) off of ebay recently.

Games download but during installation most of them eventually stop and say; installation failed (followed by a number).

I put back in my 4gb this morning and downloaded monster hunter and it finally workedly (installed fully). The thing is, i have downloaded one demo to the 16gb memory stuck and that installed fine. It was, however only 20 mb though and installed very quickly. The PSP says there is 15 gb free dsic space - so the space must be there.

My battery is on full charge and the psp is also plugged into the wall. Anyone have any ideas? I have heard something about 8 and 16gb pro duos having problems on PSP...is this true?

all suggestions would be appreciated.

Olly

Tempted to agree with t1m103 - there are are loads of fakes that will tell you the card has got x GB available when in reality it hasn't. I got my fingers burned with a couple of Sony 4GB cards (a couple of years ago when they were expensive). The PSP said they were 4GB but it turned out they were only 1GB and a very slow 1GB at that.

The packaging is usually the giveaway, a lot of fakes are still spot welded around the edge rather than properly sealed all the way round.

Anyway, as t1m says, there's loads of helpful advice on the net but a tad disappointing if you've already splashed out... hope you get it sorted.

Re: PSP problems

ye i have had sme bad experinces with fleabay... but thats another story. To check whether ure card is fake go onto music or video or game on the xmb. Navigate down to memory stick, right click it and go information. If it shows up as 'unknown' or 'unsupported' then u hve a fake. If it says 'supported' then it is a legit card.
