Help getting my films to work

Can anyone advise please, i have rip a few of my DVD's into m4v files using handbrake and the psp option. The file plays fine on the mac, but when i put the file into video on my memory stick i get corrupt data? Is the video folder the correct place?

Many thanks for any help

Re: Help getting my films to work

When you say m4v format do you mean they are named "M4V12345"? (obviously number will differ)

If so place in a folder named MP_ROOT on the root of your memory card.

The video folder is the correct folder but the MP4 file format is very PSP specific

if using a MAC you'll have to hunt down a suitable video converter\encoder

I've never used either as i don't have a MAC, but i would have thought if it has a PSP preset then it should output a working MP4 file.

How is the output file named, movie_name.mp4 or M4V12345.mp4?

Re: Help getting my films to work

The output is for example i convert transformers.avi i get Transformers.m4v

I have changed the extension to .mp4 but the PSP says there is no data to show

I have put it in the root of the MP_ROOT folder and also inside the 2 folders (nv9100344 - or something like that)

Re: Help getting my films to work

if the file has a name (movie_name.mp4) then it defo goes in the VIDEO folder.

I'm pretty sure the output file should be .mp4, someone correct me if i'm wrong

Not having any luck , i have downloaded the software convertor Great little program. But when i put the .mp4 files into the VIDEO folder on the root dir, i get a corrupt data when i go to video - mem stick on the xmb

Are there any settings i need to set to get this to work?

Also there is a VIDEO folder in the ISO folder - what's that for?

Cheers

I don't understand why this doesn't work they should just play from the video/memstick as your doing, there are no seetings or option that need setting that i can remeber.

do the movie_name.mp4 files play on your MAC ok?

The video folder in iso is for UMD movies, but you don't want to go down that road -

Re: Help getting my films to work

I have no idea why either. Yes they play on the mac. I even downloaded some psp ready clips from the web, but all i get is corrupt icon with the word corrupt data next to it.

I even tried this method i found on the web, but i think it's an old way -

Quote:

How to Put Movies On Your PSP

* It is quite easy to put a movie on your PSP if you know it.

* First of all you have to check if your Memory Stick is big enough. As you maybe know your PSP can only play MP4 movies, this file is often used by mobiles.

* Connect your PSP with your PC, using a USB wire or a Memory Stick Duo Adaptor. Now once connected you will see that there is a folder called “PSP” on your memory stick.

* Now make a new folder called “MP_ROOT” and create a sub-folder called “100MNV01″ under it. Copy your movie in there and name it “M4Vxxxxx.MP4″. The “xxxxx” are a 5 digit number. Example: “M4V00001.MP4″. Simple as that.

* Some files you download come with a file that ends with “.THM”. This file doesn’t have to be transfered.

* It’s quite simple isn’t it, but remember it has to be a valid .MP4. There are PSP some movies on the net which are not valid.
And that don't work either Lol - This thing hates me
