Free Copy Of GT PSP With PSP Go Registration!

Well we've all been complaining about the game prices & for once Sony have done us a favour.

If you register a PSP Go between October 1 - 10 you will receive a free digital download of GT PSP.

Not too shabby - even better if we can share the download!

Just got to hope the code is given instantly as GT PSP is the game I was going to buy at launch. Please don't tell me I'm going to be sitting there with new hardware & no game to play???

It is a launch title for the PSP Go.
Are you referring to the full PS3 game or have I missed something?

Re: Free Copy Of GT PSP With PSP Go Registration!

Apparently this is no longer 'register within the 1st 10 days' but the 1st 10,000 people to register Do you think the pre orders are better than expected and Sony are covering their back sides? This doesn't bode well for my Tesco pre order - not known for their prompt delivery!

wonder if I can just pick it up in store, saying that Ive not seen confirmation of this news. Wish there was someway I could just get answers for questions like this

EDIT : Just checked on my tesco order and it says 'At Warehouse - Dispatching Soon' ???

I'll probably cancel my Tesco pre-order as I've just pre-ordered the North American one for just over £160 including shipping. Hopefully I can still take advantage of this special offer. If not then it's no big deal as I'm not a big fan of Gran Turismo.

Sony have just released a 'how to claim' guide - looks pretty straight forward and it appears anyone can get it before 10/10/09, not just the first 10,000 Hope this is of use to some people :

that doesn't sound too promising. I was hoping for an instant redemption - especially as people will be buying the UMD and PSN download on October 1st...

I would assume the reason it isn't instant is because no one wants a PSP Go! with no games so while you're waiting for the GT code you'll be tempted to buy something else ..grrr

Re: Free Copy Of GT PSP With PSP Go Registration!

Between this offer and the reward offer it appears possible to get a PSPGO and 4 free games provided you own a PSP (1000,2000,3000) and at least 1 UMD game.

I don;t know if they will allow you to take advantage of both but I don't see why not. Both offers are posted on Sony's official website and both run out on October 10th.

I have pre-ordered from Play.com at 199.99 and own a PSP 300 so am planning on taking advantage of both offers, I think £199.99 including 4 free games is very reasonable so I am very excited.

I then plan on selling my 3000 after redeeming to off-set some of this cost so I should be looking at an outlay of between 130 to 150 for the new go and 4 games which is not to be sneezed at.

Re: Free Copy Of GT PSP With PSP Go Registration!

Whilst it does seem to be offering 4 free games, it isn't really. It's just pacifying current PSP owners that have no way to use their own UMD games on the Go! The list of games is appauling IMO, there's no newer titles to choose from, I'm struggling to find 3 I'd actually want bearing in mind you're stuck with them..booo
As for the free Gran Turismo, it's a good gesture..but Sony aren;t silly. It's an offer to encourage people to early adopt as they say you need to do it within 10 days of launch, however I wouldn't be surprised if we see a price drop as early as Christmas and if you've had a free copy of GT early adopters wont be able to complain to Sony, if you see what I mean.

All this whinging from me, yet I'm picking one up tomorrow :D

Re: Free Copy Of GT PSP With PSP Go Registration!

I do accept that the shift to digital download only is not without its problems.

I've only had the PSP-3000 for about a week - I bought it on a whim and I was really impressed with it, especially the remote play option streaming from my ps3, works brilliantly. I wanted a device with a larger screen than my IPod Classic for video viewing on my long commute and though the PSP was a good compromise. I don't have many games but I have been surprised by a couple (Syphon filter for example) but to be honest the most fun I've had with it so far is with PS1 classics like Rainbow Six and FF VII that I've downloaded from PSN and this is the way forward for me.

So the price tag with 4 games is in my opinion a good deal.

I'll now have a device with bigger screen than the ipod, plays games (arguably better than my ipod) and is now even more pocket friendly than the PSP 3000. Its a winner in my opinion.

I'm intersted also in the 'minis' idea - smaller cheaper games that will be downloadable, I assuming it is competing with the Apple Apps, it will be interesting to see how that turns out...

I wouldn't bet on that. Play ordered often go to packing and then back to picking and then back to packing. The fact that it says packing is not a 100% guarantee it's going to be on it's way soon.

You could grab it off the US PSN For £25 I wonder if this will somehow drive up the price of games at retail? Ive not had a PSP since Vice City Stories so I'm not sure if £34.99 is about right for a new game?

On another note the first batch of games has been released on the US PSN, I got to say - their actually priced quite reasonably! God Of War for £10. Also a bunch of games on sale some as low as £3.15! Bring on the Go!

I'd love to have a look mate but some plonker in Sony R&D seemed to think it would be a laugh to take the battery level indicator out of the system menu so I cannot see how much charge I have and as such cant update the f/w until it decides I'm ready :D

Re: Free Copy Of GT PSP With PSP Go Registration!

lmao..well I think it's awful The console feel cheap and nasty, but looks lush. The PS Store side of things is overly complicated. You cant have more than one acct on the machine so you have to delete any other acct before creating a new one. There doesn;t seem to be anything on the store for PSP Go. I assumed the rewards section would be up (cos playstation.com tells you to go there lol) and there's no Minis section. Also there's no Gran Turismo theme so you cannot register to get your free GT.
When I bought mine I picked up a case for it that you can leave the Go in when playing, the problem is that makes it very awkward to use the shoulder buttons while in the case

It's all very sloppy..not impressed at all

I thought you could have multiple accounts like the PS3, and you can play other region downloads by just signing in/out of an account?

mine is still charging so it refuses to update. Its connected to the blooming AC adapter you stupid machine, get on with it!

Re: Free Copy Of GT PSP With PSP Go Registration!

As far as I can see once you have a PSN acct on it it doesn;t ask you to login so there's no option to login using another acct, only way to do it is use 'delete acct' and then sign in using a different acct. The whole online/PS Store side of it feels massively over complicated and badly implemented.

There is no PSP rewards section and there is no GT theme so no way to register to get the game yet.

lmao...well I downloaded Motorstorm (at a reasonable price of £21.99) but on my work 8meg line it took 30 minutes to d/l but then it popped up 'installing' and took 15 minutes to install...absolutely shocking..
