Uncharted: Golden Abyss

I just finished this on Hard and it was AMAZING. So much fun. Great story and dialogue. . .and Marisa Chase. . .I want her in Uncharted 4 she was that good. The actress has the same chemistry as Elena has with Nate - it's all so natural. . .and the last cutscene leaves you wanting more with a great mixture of comedy and fun just like the original Uncharteds!

Well done to Bend studios. . .usually I hate games like this where another developer takes over and butchers a franchise!

Any Uncharted fan should have it.

On hard there was some AMAZINGLY frustrating sections with gun battles as there always in is Uncharted. . .doubt I'll do it on crushing haha.

34% of the trophies so no doubt will get every thing else with a second play through complete with trophy and map help.

You can't check your gun stats to see how many more kills with each weapon you need for a trophy though which is a bit of a bummer!

The problem I have with this game is shooting the bleeding guns lol, is there an option for auto-aim?

Ha. You'll get used to the sticks. . .I was POO until I got used to it and started using the tilt lol. Eventually I ended up using the analogue sticks to get close and then using the gyroscope to aim precisely on the heads! I have like 250 headshots haha. Such a good tactic.

Another tip is using your gyroscope to control recoil! Aim at someone and as you're firing tilt your console away from you and the recoil won't have any effect!

Yes, there is an option for auto-aim. I had to turn it on earlier cos I was finding the aiming difficult.

Just googled, and it looks like it's 34... I'm at 21 and loving it

My fav vita game at the moment, but then I've really enjoyed the series and while this doesn't have the really OTT sections like UC2 and 3, it's still just as enjoyable imo.... Bend Studio have done a great and seamless job of producing a UC game that feels totally part of the same universe; I hope they're commissioned to do another straight away!

Only negatives are the touch screen swipe to climb, break through wall, cut vines and hand to hand combat; just actually take you out of the game rather than involve you more in it... But then you can imagine the meeting with some of the big Vita suits "we need more touching!!" ... the touch screen stuff for puzzles though works really well, as does rear touch for zooming.

I'll crack on with a few more chapters tonight!

I finished it the other night. It is my favourite Uncharted. I preferred the set-pieces taking back-seat in all honesty. Great game, and would play it again.

Seems fooking awesome as expected, will get the platinum on this, then get the 1st and 3rd sorted!

Just recieved my copy today. Wasn't going to get it as I was not sure if it would be any good on a handheld but thought I would give it a go as love the series and reading the forum made me go for it.

Fine tune your aiming via tilt an stuff! It's great for headshots. I didn't use it until chapter 15 onwards. Really wish I had of!! Especially quick sniping...aim the hip fire close to a guy....hit l1 ...zoom in....quickly tilt to get to the guys head! It's genius!

Finished this last night

Top quality game, throughly enjoyed it all the way to the end... Missed out on loads of stuff during the game though

This game itself really should shift some Vitas, if you like the uncharted series and this type of game, I really can't see you not enjoying this. Totally proves the Vita is capable of full blown console type games with ease.

I finished this now too. Great game! I think I might trade this in cos I really don't see me going back through for the treasures. I'm off to ASDA so I will see how much they offer for it...

Finished mine today (though on very easy!) & loved it! Just didn't want it to end. Not that great at shooters but found this really easy especially tilting the vita whilst in zoom which felt so natural.

Think I'll go staring back on a harder setting & finish it again! Then it'll be off for trade in. That's the only downside, no online so no reason to keep after finishing.

Just started to put some time to this. On chapter 16 now and think its fantastic. In the main I'd actually say some of the touchscreen inputs improve the game.

Definitely going back to do some chapters again once I've finished it to make sure I've picked up all the treasures etc

I got the same voucher from game station hoping to use it on a pre owned copy of wipe out as the voucher says any vita game even on the terms on the website says nothing about new only!

Can you link me to the terms? Game stock ubisoft titles now. I'm thinkin of trading in uncharted. Picking up Rayman and using the store credit from the trade AND the voucher. Not sure of that's allowed

Got Rayman for 4.99 by trading in Uncharted and you can use the 20% voucher but only in the game branch you bought vita in. Got another voucher for 20% off any PlayStation digital product bought through game (whatever that means)

Finished this last night and thought it was fantastic! Easily the best console type experience I've had on a portable. Am amazed how they fit it all on such s small card. Yes some of the locales get reused but was such an impressive achievement for a launch game. Loved the setting for the final chapters. Can honestly say I enjoyed this as much as the PS3 games, in fact UC3 has taken a back seat for the last couple weeks whilst I played through Golden Abyss. Need to turn the PS3 on again and finish that one off.

Just need to go back to get some of the trophies and then will probably trade in for EG.

Do people use "Auto Aim".. I have had a few goes at Uncharted when I first got my Vita and was going to save it until I had more time.. But I did find the aiming frustrating...

Then I read about using "Auto Aim" combined with the Tilt feature and this weekend I had another crack and found it much better... But it was a bit TOO easy... It reminded me of the aiming in COD.. You just keep tapping "Aim Down Sight" and fire and you keep locking onto the enemies.. It just seems unfair and feels a bit like cheating.

Do people actually use "Auto Aim"?

Jon

Yeah I use the autoaim and gyroscope to adjust but always aim for the head for a bit of a challenge!
