BenQ SP820 Display Problem

Hey guys,

I've been having a little trouble with my BenQ SP820 LCD projector. It has been displaying really strange colour distortions in areas with low contrast and light colour. This happens considerably more in the VGA input than on the composite input. Here are some examples or the distortion.

Could this have to do just with calibration? Or is it possible the projector is faulty in some way? Or is it just a crappy projector? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
