Infocus 5700 demo

Hi all,
I've just got my hands on an Infocus 5700 for a weekend demo.
This seems to suit my needs as I have a room with little light control.
Brought it home last night and WOW!
The picture is so much brighter and more defined than my current panasonic PT AE100.
One problem- when watching TV via tivo RGB Scart into component switching box, I get vertical white bars either side of the image. Any ideas on how I might lose them?

Also, I only have the PJ for the weekend. Any suggestions on tweaking levels?
It looks great out of the box, but if I could change one thing, it would be to make the image less grainy.
I'm projecting on an OWL electric 92" screen, and yes, the sides of the screen bow a little.
Any help would be much appreciated
Pete
