Pioneer KURO KRF-9000FD or something else

I am seriously considering a purchase of a Pioneer KRF-9000FD projector.

Ability to accept 1080p/24 and play back at 72Hz (or other frequency divisible by 24) is essential to me, as are great black levels. Is this the right projector for the price? Or is there something better I am missing? Are there 120Hz projectors?

I am still impressed by the HD100 (the same unit) It is better IMO than the 350 particularly black levels. The 750 is better but it's in the same ballpark

Do you plan to run this with your Radiance ? If not then colour accuracy may be an issue due to its oversaturated gamut that cannot be calibrated out.

Having owned a similar JVC model I would also check if sample and hold motion smear/blur is an issue.

Re: Pioneer KURO KRF-9000FD or something else

Thanks guys.

Avi, I am actually thinking of running it via an AV888, once they're available. I am thinking of a simplification exercise, and not having a pile of VPs and an AV processor with functionality that replicate each other and a pile of remote controls.

Although if colour is a problem, I do have the Radiance to hand (can unplug it from the office) but then that needs a DVDO solution to sort out Sky HD, which is back to multiple boxes.

Re: Pioneer KURO KRF-9000FD or something else

Very happy with my purchase of the Pioneer a few weeks ago.
Only one hitch, as i bought it blind it was quite a shock to see the size of the unit compared to my old IN76
Anyone have calibration settings for the 9000 ?
I still have mine on std settings straight out of the box.
