My projector a panasonic ptae700 has just given up for some strange reason and i am looking at potential replacements, just a quick one really i havent seen the ptax200 running but i have read some reviews and they seem mixed, will it give me a better picture for films than my ptae700. all advice welcome AND NEEDED.

The AX200 is a number of generations newer than the AE700, I'd be surprised if there wasn't some significant difference in PQ. I went from the AE1000>2000>3000 and there was a step up each time, though I'm sure some AX200 owners will be along soon enough, doubtless they may have had previous AExxx models before, so can answer your question better than me.
