HDMI to DVi

Hi guys, could you answer a quick question and maybe a solution.

I have an old sony Hs10 which has a Dvi in(the cable is buried in the wall and ceiling).
I wanted to connect A HDMI blue ray player to the source end which previously took a HCPC and I bought a DVI to HDMI adapter plug.......It doesnt display. Now im assuming this has something to do with HDCP right?

Anyway can you offer a work around and also, assuming the inevitable projector upgrade in the future, can I still utalise the Dvi cable without running in a new 10m+ Hdmi cable.

Re: HDMI to DVi

Hi

If your projector doesn't support HDCP, you will need to consider something like a HDFury.

Re: HDMI to DVi

Did a quick look at the PJ (VLP-HS10) and looks like it does support HDMI HD input with HDCP DVI input.

Now and then I have HDMI "handshake" issues between sources and projector - could be a defective adapter.

Can you test your HDMI to DVI with another device to be sure the adapter is connecting properly.

Does the projector do an auto select and sense that plug-in to the DVI port or do you have to manually select it?

With our Canon PJ I had to unplug the component cable before it would select the DVI.

A review had a lot of nice things to say about the HS10 so I would make sure of the HDMI to DVI link and adapter and etc. before giving up.
Best of Luck
