The lamp itself would probably be worth more than the projector. You could sell the lamp separately on one of the auction sites and use that towards a new projector.
I personally would find out how much it'll cost to get it fixed and then make a decision. Although I doubt you'll manage to fix it and recover the cost of the repair if the projector is only worth £200 in working order.
Unless someone is looking for that particular projector for parts, it's unlikely that someone will take the chance on buying it especially if the repair cost is unknown. You could always get a quote and put on the auction how much the repair is.
I'm in a similar situation with my AE-700, starting to have the blue streaks on the screen and at 4900 hrs on the bulb. Don't want to install a new bulb as I'm looking to change the projector soon.
