Re: 3m x20 lcd

Just bought one of these too for £224.99 -5% RAC Memeber discount and an Optoma DS-9092PMG 92" pull down screen £34.99 -5% RAC Discount

This is my first sortie into the projector market. Like "Ziggar" I hope I haven't been fooled by the low price.

These are on other sites for £799!!

I am also planning to buy a ceiling mount from [URL="http://www.avprojectorlamps.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=58&Itemi d=86"]

Anyone tried one yet??? looks reasonable for £25.99 delivered

If I'm lucky I will have a good setup for under £300 - here's hoping

Anyone got any thoughts on the above?

Re: 3m x20 lcd

Bought from Play.com, but they have now increased it to £249.99!!!! but you can still get the 5% by going to the RAC website and registering your RAC account which then allows you to generate a discount code. Not sure if this would work for employees though.

Mine has now been dispatched and will be with me within 3-5 days. Will post a "review" when I get it going.

Good luck Steve.

Re: 3m x20 lcd

Hi Russ
just had a look on play
not sure what you want to do with the projector but it dont have a hdmi port its only got 500 -1 contrast and its not 16.9, i dont think it will be that good for films or tv but may be great for game play

Re: 3m x20 lcd

For the money i'd maybe up the budget slightly and get a good 2nd hand unit from the classifieds on these forums, not trying to sound bad but the spec on that unit is horrendous, one could have a almost new 2nd user proper HD 16:9 unit with good connectivity.

Re: 3m x20 lcd

Hi Ziggar,

Mine is to be delivered on 7th.

I will update if I get the same Infocus X20 as you!!

If you ordered a 3M X20 then that is what you should have - see Sale of Goods Act 1979 on the trading standards website - Product must be as described including any advertising or despription applied to it. This is the responsibility of the seller not the manufacturer.

I know its a cheap projector, but it will not be used that often, so I thought it worth a dabble plus its got a 3 year warranty which you wont get 2nd hand and a least the lamp has zero running hours. As we know lamps can cost almost as much as a new projector.

I'll give it a chance

Re: 3m x20 lcd

Damn. I've ordered one and it should arrive tomorrow.

I have to admit, I did suspect that Play.com had made a mistake and had confused the 3m X20 with the InFocus projector of the same name because the price was so low, but I decided to take a gamble.

I'll be returning the InFocus to Play. The reason I wanted the 3M is because of its 1:1 throw ratio: placing the projector 2m from a screen gives a 2m image. The InFocus has a ratio of 2:1, so placing it 2m from a screen gives a 1m image.

Re: 3m x20 lcd

They delivered my 3M X20 whixh was also an Optoma X20!!

Even the invoice shows as an Optoma X20, which is NOT what was ordered.

My play account also shows the item as "3 Electronics", I gues this is their admission that they got it wrong and they have now removed the evidence from the website.

I will be calling them tomorrow to discuss this.
