Need help replacing HT300+

Hi all!

This is my first post to this forum as I have just found it! I have been running a setup for several years now and been very happy with it! My problem is this week my Sim2 HT300 Plus decided to die on me! The cost to repair it is likely to be about £ 1000 so got me thinking as its about 5 years old it might be time to just replace it!

Problem is I am very out of touch with how things have moved on. I have been feeding my HT300 with HD from Sky+ and also throgh rgb from my DVD player. I was very happy with the picture quality I was getting but am unsure what current projector standards are compared to my old projector.

After speaking to various people, some have said the Epson TW2000 would be as good, then there is the Infocus IN80-83 range or the JVC HD1. All the reviews for these projectors seem very good, but as they have been released over a period of a couple of years I am not sure how they compare to each other. Obviously I understand the differenced in the Infocus range, but my issue is I dont know how my Sim2 300+ would compare to these to get a starting point.

If anyone has any advise it would be appreciated, especially giving me an idea of where my Sim2 would fit into the current generation of projectors from a picture quality standpoint, so at least I ahve a benchmark to start from.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give! With Christmas coming up I need to decide what to do quickly!!
