Hi, can anyone help please, im thinking of purchasing a Sanyo PLV-Z5, the throw distance is 5m, the image size i need is a 72" wide and 42" drop.

Can this projectorthrow this image?.. ive used the projector central site but im not confident if I correctly used it.

image is 16:9, iand i think i may need to zoom slightly.

Have I red this correctly.

The Sanyo had a throw ratio of 1.36-2.76:1. It's easier to stick with one measurement standard (imperial or metric) so we'll go metric for this. Your image width is 1.83 metres. Multiply 1.83 by 1.36 gives 2.49 metres (your minimum throw and multiply 1.83 by 2.76 gives 5.05 metres (the maximum throw) so - if your measurements are accurate - then the Z5 should just do it at it's longest throw. Bear in mind that manufacturers do have tolerances for their ratio figures so you may have to shorten that throw slightly.

problem is I have to mount the projector on the rear wall, wall mounted on a shelf. wall to wall is 5.3m so allowing prector width and cabling at back of it i used 5m.

I didnt think 5m was a long throw compared to some of the other rooms ive seen in the gallery.

So, the Z5 will it be on its maximum zoom at 5m?

According to the calulator here. The sanyo Z5 at 5m throw and minimum zoom will give a diaganol of 207 cm (180x101 cm) or 81" (71" x 40").With a very slight adjustment to the zoom you should be able to achieve your screen size (or adjust the throw slightly). At max zoom (5m throw) you get a 414 cm diaganol (361x203cm).
