Epson TW2000, PS3 and Yamaha RX-V3800

Completely new to this projector game - and took delivery from Italy of my Epson TW2000 today. Can anyone advise me of the right set up for the above system, as in connections? Would be much appreciated. Oh - going to Quad L ite speakers.

PS3 -> HDMI -> 3800 -> HDMI -> Epson.

3800 -> OFC speaker wire -> Quad Lite speakers.

I would have thought just ordering this gear would indicate the requisite knowledge on connections?

If in doubt read the manuals

Thanks Chopus. I thought it was that but wasnt sure. Why should it require the requisite knowledge? I just want to watch cool movies with good sound.

Your choices/combination are a good match, especially the decision to go with the RX-V3800, and I would have thought someone who picked it (over let's say an 1800, 1900 or 3900) would have based the decision on a comprehensive read of the info available, the first thing being that HDMI rules the world for this stuff, at this level.

In Australia (where I am) you'd have to seek out a 3800, they are not sold by box shifters who put packages together ... this is why I was surprised at the question.

Re: Epson TW2000, PS3 and Yamaha RX-V3800

I did do a lot of research - I used to have a basic home cinema set up, and a decent hifi set up. I know HDMI is the deal but I have almost given up trying to understand all the ins and outs. EG - is it best for the projector to upscale SD or the amp? How do I choose? Can I even?

I used to get involved in all this detail - these days I more and more want something I can set up easily, switch on and enjoy.

I got the Amp from a strong recommendation on here - picked it up for £800 as they were discontinuing I think.
