sorry!, but i need advice on cables for my projector

ok here goes, after deciding to go for the panasonic pte-100 for the no-brainer price of £600 notes, i'm starting to get myself a bit confused about how to cable up my devices. Basically all i want to connect to the projector is:

My Grundig skydigital box and my Philips 963a (component dvd player)

if its anyhelp, i have a denon 2801 which may be able to be used if you sugguest it.

my plan so far was to purchase a 10m component cable to run directly from my philips 963a - pte-100 , but my problem is how to get a signal from my digi box (it doesn't have s-video you see)

any help or advice greatly appreciated, as i would like to purchase the correct cables prior to delivery.

thanks, mark

Hi,

To get a picture from your digibox you have three options.

1) Buy a scart to composite adaptor (£3) and a long phono lead (£10). This method uses composite video.

2) Buy an RGB to S-Video converter (£50) and a long S-Video lead.
This method uses S-Video.

3) Buy an RGB to S-Video converter and a Pro-V (converts S-Video to XGA). This best but most expensive option, will cost around £170.

I use option 3.

jonny, thanks very much for the extremely useful information you have supplied. i think i will go for option 2 using a rgb-s video converter.

many thanks again for your time and wealth of knowledge. To help out us new people on the projector front is the very reason many of us frequent these forums.
