Cool Projected image too big - what to do?

Hi

i have just installed a Sharp projector to replace my older one which was stolen.

The projector is mounted on one wall and projects to the opposite wall. Unfortunely, the new projector's image is now 3 ft too wide.

Is there any lens i can buy and fit to the front of the project lense to reduce the image size?

By the way, the ceiling is not strong enough to hold a ceiling mount so I can't just move the projector closer and any way i have teenager sons so keeping the projector high on a wall is the safest place for it.

You need to either:

1) Move the projector closer to the screen
2) Move the screen closer to the projector
3) Get a bigger screen
4) Get a different projector

If you do get a different projector I'd suggest doing a bit of research into the throw ratio first.

Re: Projected image too big - what to do?

I remember seeing a picture in one of the threads here of a forum member who had mounted his pj on a home made track on the ceiling so it could be against the wall when not in use but slid forward a couple of feet for viewing.

It was a very cheap solution with the tracks going across a couple of ceiling joists so there was no problem with ceiling strength.

Just can't for the life of me remember which thread it was

Probably a stupid question but have you checked the zoom?

Re: Projected image too big - what to do?

I have never heard of a lens reducing the throw distance and I might be wrong here. Usually quality lenses are quite expensive. E.g. anamorphic lenses are easly at the price range of a projector.
If you can't move the projector nor the screen closer it might be the better option to go for a new projector?
