Thanks: Gave 197, Got 98 | anything else on par to X10 regards sharpness ?
im in 2 minds now regards to the throw at 11ft from the infocus X10 ... 70ish inch
i cant believe infocus could drop a clanger this big, i mean the idea of having a pj in the first place is to get a big image. i mean, we dont all live in a mansion
so what else is there in the 1k range that could be as near as good as the sharpness from the X10, im not fussed about blacks, shadows etc, its the crispness im chasing .. but i want to get a 92" image at least ..... help

tabs,
I have 12 feet max as well. And from the calculator it shows the following
11 Feet - 81.8 inches diagonal max
11.5 Feet - 85.6 inches diagonal max
12 Feet - 89.0 inches diagonal max
My blind can display an image of max 90 inchesd diagonal. So if i can manage the full 12 feet distance I will be able to make it.

hi mate, it D-day tomorrow im ordering something, even if its one of them disney kids projectors i had in the 70's
i just cant pull that extra foot into play, i wouldnt hesitate then.
the pj is 17in from front to back, which reduces even more valuable space i can muster up, so now im in to the nether regions of 10.5 ft

I think this is a common problem as both the X10 and the HD800 need more space than my room can accommodate, I have just over 10 foot and have an 81" screen. This is forcing me to look at either the X9 or the HD700 which should work fine with these numbers. So 1080 may be off the menu but it will save me a few hundred quid.

I bet you won't find anything sharper in its price range.

Then again the X9 is less than £500 and the HD700 is less than £410, a whopping £860 cheaper.

How about the Sanyo Z2000. It is meant to be sharp, and will give you the flexibility for placement.
It is £1,142 though but comes with a Samsung 1500 bluray player (which could be sold on for £100ish), and a 3 year warranty....
The Z700 & Z3000 is just around the corner though, and the Z700 may be cheaper, although uses organic panels |

I think once you see the improvement in picture the size issue will slowly take a back seat. I still do not understand why Infocus designed the PJ like that. It could be the way IN8x was designed..

There does appear to be a short through lense available for the X10.... Look at the Infocus pages. Not sure on price though |

I was reading the In81/82/83 review on Cine4Home. The sharpness tests and comments are most impressive even in the In83 price range.
See here
The X10 and IN80 uses the same optics and that is what driving me more towards the X10.
