PT-AX200 or wait for 300?????

Hi guys!

I have a problem........

I have light leaky lounge with a small viewing distance to screen - around 10 feet.

I previously had a PTAE 500 and got a 110 inch screen from that - and believe that the pTAX 200 would equal that.

BUT...is the rumoured 300 gonna appear soon or should I plump for the 200 now?
Will it really have a replacement soon?

Does anybody know?

One more question...

Does anybody know if the throw distance of the ptax 200 is similar to a ptae 500?

I.e. if I was getting 110 inches ten feet away, would I get that with the PTAX?

Anybody know whether the 300 is going to appear or should I just go for the 200?

I can get it for 899 in a store on 739 online.

Whats the better bet?

Not sure when the AX300 is due, or even what changes they'll have made.

The AX200 does have a few issues (green flash, flicker), check the owners forum!

I've had the AX200 for about a year and I think it's great though I've not had any serious problems with it.

So, do you wait for the AX300 and buy that which might not be a great improvement anyway? Do you get a cheap AX200 once the AX300 has been released? Or, buy yourself an AX200 now and enjoy........the decision is yours!

Panasonic didn't replace the AX200 last year....whether an updated 720p model is released this year (September/October) remains to be seen.....they may just continue to sell the AX200 as their budget option alongside the AE3000/4000.

I went from an AE300 to AE700 to AE900 to AX100 to LG AF115, The difference between the AE500 and AX200 will, in my opinion, be huge both in terms of picture quality and physical size.

I doubt if you could do much better for the money. A low use used one with warranty will probably cost £450 - £500 so £739 sounds good to me. You can be sure any replacement will be closer to £1000

Its true there have been some problems with the AX200 but they should be sorted by now and the service centre in Cardiff is excellent - less than a week turn around should a fault develop - a 2 year warranty comes as standard.

Having said all that the AF115 at £1150, on line, is bigger and better still.
