power cuts...fans to cool lamp

power cuts...fans to cool lamp

hi...im in mexico....we have random power cuts....i have an hitachi projector....what can i do to keep fans on too cool lamp when there is power cut.....thanks any ideas

There are small UPS (uninterruptible power supply) that run on internal batteries for a sufficient period to enable a safe run-down of your PJ. They switch in (as the name suggests) immediately, uninterrupted. You would need to check locally for a price. You can also buy BIG ups that would run the whole house, obviously these cost a lot more.

I've just been to check and here in the UK you could buy an UPS that would run a 360Watt load for 20 minutes, this would reduce as the UPS gets older but it should be good for 3-5 years without a problem. My JVC PJ runs at 280watts so i would imagine yours would be similar. The cost of the UPS I looked at in the UK would be around £50.

thanks for replys.......i really want to keep everything light for travelling....is there anyway i can just keep the fans powered ....i dont mind if power cut turns off projector,,,i just need the fans to cool the lamp for 1 minute...
