Mitsubishi HC1500 projector shows noise when given Sony bdp-s350 720p HDMI signal

I set my BDP-S350 Bly-ray player to output HDMI 720p and I set my Mitsubishi projector which is 720p resolution to HDMI input and it recognizes that it is getting a 720p signal (the menu shows 720p 60) but the picture shows just noise. On HDMI 480p everything works but on 720p or 1020i/p just noise. Any ideas please?

Never got it working with HDMI and Mitsubishi support were useless but it works with component cables as someone helpfully suggested - thanks
