Sony VPL-VW60 and Onkyo 875

Hi Guys,

I have a media room under construction and I'm just about to order a Sony VPL-VW60 (from Hivizone). I was intenting to pair this with the Onkyo 875/6amp.

Does anyone have any experience of this, whether they are a good match ?
Any gotcha's

The room will be totally dark with a throw of about 17ft. I was hoping for screen size (horizonal) of 7-8 feet. Can any one recomend a suitable screen. Main use will be Xbox/PS3 games and movies

Thanks

Mike.

Re: Sony VPL-VW60 and Onkyo 875

Looking at the screen calculator for the pj I think you will have to reduce your throw to between 13-14ft to get the screen size you want.

At 17ft throw it looks like you will have a 10ft wide screen.

Re: Sony VPL-VW60 and Onkyo 875

I've Checked out the calculator. As you say It seems to suggest that an 8foot wide image can be projected from about 13/14foot away. I asssume that I can't reduce the zoom on the lense to move the projector back further ?

I guess its not a big problem I just hadn;t imaged it being so close to the screen...

Its also suggesting a higher gain screen that I expected at 1.2 . Any one know of any good choices ?
