£2k to spend on a projector is the a300 my only option??

As title really, is it just that good its not worth me bothering to look at any other makes or models??

what would you buy with £2k?

You've got to remember to include your other costs eg:

screen - wall/home made/fixed/manual pull-down/electric/remote,
prog scan - inbuilt/DVD/de-interlacer/scaler,
cables - component/svideo/vga/scart,
filter - fld, cc40,
ceiling mount - home made/tv bracket/proper mount,
cable chasing - diy/professional.

That lot could easily take up between £500 and £800.

Your best choices under £1500 are IMHO the Sanyo Z1, Panny AE300 and Infocus X1. The Sony HS10 comes in at £2000 but that doesn't allow you any spare cash for extras.

You should do a search on them and then test them.

Cheers,
Cal.
