Looks like a new Sanyo pj is on the way, 1080p at a reduced price to the Z2000. No prices yet but bet it will be less than £1k maybe even <£900 street price.

hope its less than 1k, but 1 price ive seen is$3000 dollars which is approx £1500, whens the release date anyone know? as im tempted to buy the sanyo 1080p from there with the free blu ray player for £1200 or so

As I understand it no price has been anounced as yet but the Z700 is suposed to be the budget 1080p pj and they are also bringing out a more expensive model aswell.

If the Z700 is the lower end model and wants to compete it will have to be less than £1k as there is already Infocus and Optoma 1080p available around that price.

the epsons seem to have really good warrantys i hope the sanyo do the same then this will be a real seller!

Various sites are reporting Sanyo are saying its gonna be priced at $1995

Sanyo has announced its latest high definition projector, the PLV-Z700.

It's a full 1080p projector offering 1,200 ANSI lumens of brightness, 10,000:1 contrast ratio, and a projected image of up to 18.4m.

It features two HDMI 1.3b inputs compatible with Deep Colour, and a manual zoom lens. The lens can be shifted by up to 100% vertically and 50% horizontally, meaning it doesn't have to be installed directly opposite the projection area.

The PLV-Z700 should be available from October, price to be confirmed, though Sanyo suggests this is an entry level full HD projector, so hopefully it won't be much more than a grand.
