The Best?

Possibly a Sim2 C3X 3 Chip DLP
http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/television...9254175,00.htm

As you will probably look in horror at the price you better state your budget so the best for your money can be suggested.

Also, why not 1080p?

For 500 quid go for either the Optoma HD65 or the Planar 7010, probably the best in that price range.

Re: best 720p projector out there atm?

I'm using a Sharp Z12000 Mk II which is 720p. If you can find one it should be priced around the £1k mark.

Some other high end 720p's to look out for are

Yamaha DPX 1100/1200/1300
Marantz 12S3/12S4
Benq 8720
Any Sim2 720p model from the past two years

Good luck with your purchase.

An Infocus IN76 plus screen and AV equipment should set you back around the £1k mark. The picture it throws is really very impressive

Do forget you receive a 3 year manufacturers warranty on the Themescene HD65 and thats currently costing around the £459 - £599 price point.

To read more http://www.royjowetthomecinema.co.uk...Projector.html or visit Themescene HD65 Webpage Themescene's HD65 Webpage

Re: best 720p projector out there atm?

Well how about something like a Sanyo Z5? £600 from Ivojo plus plenty spare if you require a screen and a proper surround sound setup..? or a Blu-ray player...

..and I'd certainly agree with Shane on the HD65, similar performance to the HD70( which is still a fantastic projector for the money) you can't really go wrong at that kind of price. Either of the above projectors can be "bettered" maybe within a stict £1000 price point but you won't be getting twice the performance for twice the money put it that way..
