Optoma HD65 Cabling Setup

I just got an Optoma HD65 and was wondering the best way to cable it.

In the end, I would like to be able to use the projector with satellite TV, PS3, and a laptop, all on surround sound obviously.

The laptop is easy, just the VGA cable. But what is confusing me is is how I connect multiple items to the projector. How do I connect the satellite TV and the PS3 both to the projector without having to reconnect cables every time I switch between the two?

Does the projector first connect back to the surround sound receiver, and then both the satellite and PS3 connect to the receiver?

Also, my receiver is a bit older so it does not have the HDMI or component connections. Do I need to upgrade or can I get by with this older receiver for now until I upgrade to a better receiver?

Sorry for the 'new guy' questions, but any help would be very much appreciated!

Thanks!

Re: Optoma HD65 Cabling Setup

I am assuming the PS3 and the Satellite are both connected to the receiver for audio already.
You could run 1 hdmi cable to the projector and use an hdmi switch box at the ps3/Satellite end allowing you to switch inputs.

If you have an optical input on your receiver you would need an optical splitter.
