Sanyo Z1 how reliable?

Hi Guys

I had a local dealer demo a Z1 today and am blown away with the image quality. Before I buy, are there any reliability or other issues I need to be aware of regarding this pj.

I am also considering the panny 300 but due to problems with the panny 100 am drawn to the sanyo.

Has anyone had to repace a bulb yet if so what cost and is this a diy job.

Thanx

Keith

The only real issues with the Z1 seem to be dust blobs, especially during filter removal (for cleaning).

A good PJ by all accounts, but it's very unlikely any owners have changed bulbs just yet.
TBH, looking at replacement bulb costs before even purchasing the unit seems to be a futile exercise.

Just buy one, enjoy & worry about that in 2/4 years time, when a super duper, all singing, all dancing PJ will probably come free with your choice of breakfast cereal

I believe the replacement lamps for the Z1 and Ae300 are a similer price approx £250, it might be worth comparing the hours though.
Also the Sanyo has 2 year warranty, the Panasonic only 1 year from normal dealers.
