Re: New Room And New Project Im A Noob

Optoma 700X? £395 on Dixons but with discounts and Quidco you could probably bring it down to about £350-370. Bit over your budget but worth considering the extra stretch.

Really good HD-Ready pj's start at about £400, such as the model mentioned above and the HD65. You won't get anything decent for £300ish, just a 4:3 (not widescreen) multimedia model, not really suitable for Xbox 360 or Sky.

You could check the classifieds as these sometimes appear in there?

Definitely keep an eye out in the classifieds, picked up my HD65 for £300 and have been very happy with it.

Re: New Room And New Project Im A Noob

If your top budget is top at £300 do whatever you can to extend it so that you can afford a Optoma Hd70 or Hd65....

TRUST ME, do not bother getting a projector that is not Hd Ready in terms of its native display is not true 720p,,,, it will just look awful, I've been there and done it, there really is no point in having a big screen and the image blurry all because a it isn't a HD projector....

The xbox 360 would just be rubbish, its a HD console, so give it a HD display, it will look amazing, for £350-£400 the quality of the projected image is fantastic value for money...

I bought a typical cheap projector first, it was ok to begin with, but very quickly I just hated the image and would rather go to a small tv just so I could see things clearly.

Normal Sky (non-hd) isn't the greatest quality anyway.... so to blast that up in size on a non-hd ready projector.....welll.....

I now have a Sanyo Z5 Hd projector and I love it, amazing clear images on the 360, ps3/bluray film but a big screen at the same time!!

my setup with screens - (360): Dal's Setup

Trust these guys on here, they know what they are talking about! - Your budget is almost there

Re: optama ds306

Were the helpful suggestions in your other thread not good enough?

Optoma ds306 help with room

Why would you want a cheaper data projector that will limit your connectivity choices in a domestic environment? Save up a bit more and go for one of the projectors suggested in your earlier thread.

Re: New Room And New Project Im A Noob

As Dun buyin said why would you spend (waste) money on a data projector for a games/home cinema use!
Data projectors have a totally different use in mind ie mostly static power point displays in daylight

If you can't stretch to more than £300 (or save up a bit longer) why not consider a good second hand model - lots of past reviews on this site if you search

Re: optama ds306 help with room

You are looking at about a 76" screen at 9.88'. Why the DS306? Why not a HD65? I know it's about £130 more, but the DS306 isn't a HD projector.
And if that 1992 is you Year of Birth then that's the same as me, get a job and buy a HD65, you would be much happier. I'm having trouble finding a job though. My money is slowely decreasing.
