IMHO all modern PJs are pretty close in performance. I would get a demo or you could be in for a dissapointment.

The extra resolution is not worth much but some of the newer PJs do have marginally better contrast and black levels etc from the PJs of yesteryear.

That's some of the best advice I've seen on these forums. When people upgrade, they often tend to over-use phrases like "stunning," "night and day difference," "blown away" etc. etc. I've probably been guilty of it myself. I upgraded from a Sony HS60 to a VW60, 10,000:1 contrast up to 35,000:1, 720p to 1080p, and the difference really was not night and day. When watching blu-ray I believe that no Joe Soap would be able to tell the difference if he left the room for a few minutes between projectors, (OK, most people on here would).

I'm not sorry I upgraded? no way!!! the difference is there for me to see in contrast, colour uniformity, lack of VB, smoothness of image etc. But just don't get your expectations too high based on what other people have to say about their upgrades.
