Sanyo PLV-Z1 registration problem

I own my Z1 for about 6 months and recently observe that there is a shift in the registration of the RGB vertical lines. By playing a test chart, I notice that blue lines are slightly off the red and green lines especially at extremes of the image. The situation gets worse when the projector is turned on for some time.

Could any experts here advise how I can fix it? Is it possible to make some changes in the service mode to fix this?

Even though I have used my Z1 for just over 100 hours, there is still the strange plastic smell coming out from my projector. Can I do anything to reduce it?
