InFocus In76 picture not square

Hi again..

I have a Beamax A-Velvet FIXED screen (excellent by the way) and have it fitted perfectly straight (spirit bubble doesn't lie)..
The picture at the top right corner is slightly above the screen when the overall picture is perfectly horizontal. The picture at the bottom right of the screen is slightly below at the same time..therefore it is impossible to have a perfectly straight image and not have the right hand side top/bottom corners square with the screen.
I tried all settings, keystone etc but with no luck.. any idea

Note: I have the PJ (ceiling mounted) and pretty much centre of the screen but as I move the PJ to the left it seems to square up better.. Hardly having the PJ slightly off centre would affect this..

Hi

Because your unit has no lens shift, the centre of the lens must be absolutely in line with the centre of the screen otherwise it will be impossible to project a square image.

If you think about it in an exaggerated manner for a second. Imagine your projector was a metre to the left of the centre of the screen.

You could then rotate the projector (which you are doing) so that the image was in the middle, but the image would then be bigger on the right than the left.

You could then tilt the projector slightly to give you a completely straight image across the top, but the bottom would then be miles out.

I'm afraid you have no alternative other than to remount it again!

Yes, as steve says, it's the position of the lens in relation to the screen which is important.
On the infocus models (all except their 777) the lens is always to the right of centre of the projector when pointing at the sceen.
If you line up the lens instead of the projector, then everything should be ok. But report back if you think this is what you've already got.

The guys have already said it. I bet you've got the center of the projector in line with the center of the screen rather then the center of the projector lens.
