Infocus IN78 Image seems bended

Quality of the image is great, but when you have an image with horizontal lines in it, they bend upwards near the edge of the projected image. The image in total is howere perfectly square, no keystone correction needed. Anyone a clue how this can be solved?

On a side note..want to upgrade the firmware. But found no instructions and what cable i need to do it. Any help on this?

Thanks

Is your screen totally flat. A curl would cause that.
Otherwise it sounds pretty serious. I presume it happens with more than one source?

Well to be honest it sounds like a warranty issue - I'm out of ideas.
Anyone else?

Re: Infocus IN78 Image seems bended

Hi there,

It seems that I have a similar problem! In some images It looks like IŽm looking trow a diferente len. Tomorow IŽll check if it is a keystone problem ( iŽve installed just to check if everything was ok and was not truly flat square, but I could see in sme star wars III scenes that something is not ok

IŽm using an denon 3910 with hmdi and i also tryed the components output and the same efect in some scenes.

I can say that not all the scenes are easy ti spot but in motion it looks like a water/len efect

IŽll keep up to date

Re: Infocus IN78 Image seems bended

Hi,

After some tests the problem is in the screen and nothing to do with the PJ!

I couldnŽt find it on the screen as it was very litle, thats the reason why it only was detectable in some scenes!

This is the reason why I should buy an fixed screen!!!!

I need to negociate with the wife.

And yes, this is a wonderfull projector ( some rainbow effects can be found if you look after it ).

I intend to test it with BR, maybe a PS3 just to check how much can I gain in image quality!

Re: Infocus IN78 Image seems bended

When you test it with a PS3 set the output to 1080p as the IN78 has a better scaler than the Playstaion, you'll like what you see...

Re: Infocus IN78 Image seems bended

Hi klippie!

Thanks for the tip!

I intend to tes all the possibilities, but if you already did then itŽs esier to follow the sugestion!

By the way Do you see an big diference betewwen DVD and Blue Ray movies?

I wanted to test first n order to check before I buy it.

I have the ideia that IŽll see bigger diference from DVD to BR than from IN 78 to IN 82 with both formats....

Re: Infocus IN78 Image seems bended

Don't expect every Blu-ray to be the last word in picture quality because they're not there can be a massive difference between disks but generally most of what I've seen so far is better than SD-DVD, but there are some which will make your jaw hit the floor. I rent before I buy to make sure the picture is up to scratch.

I've tried all the settings and leaving the PS3 output at 1080p is the best but by all means give it a go your eyes may prefer something else.

Go get yourself a PS3 mate you know you want to...

I forgot to mention, if your running a long HDMI cable get as good one as you can afford the cheap ones are cheap for a reason.

Re: Infocus IN78 Image seems bended

Hi,

IŽll see if I can test the PS3 before... ( you right ...if I can wait..... )

IŽve installed an 8 meters supra HDMI, I agree that this is crutial to have an good image, even more than those special and expensive RCA interconnections.

By the way.... thereŽs no In78 thread.... Why not start one?

I will also try the new panasonic bdp 30... IŽve seen what he is able to do to DVDŽs on a plasma....

What Movie do you suggest to see Blu ray capabilities?

Any of the Pixar Blu-rays, Spiderman 3 is good as is Starship Troopers and Casino Royal.

In78 thread I don't think there are many people on here have one.
