What's the difference btwn UHB and UHP lamps?

this may have been a typo on the site i was looking at but one projector had a UHB lamp and the other had a UHP lamp - is there a difference, is one of them better than the other?

also, would there be much difference between a 150w lamp and a 130w lamp?

cheers

As far as volume projector lamp manufacturers go there's us (Philips) and them (Osram). Just about everybody buys from either company or sometimes both.

I believe UHP is a Philips trade name standing for Ultra High Power. Other manaufacturers might use UHB to stand for Ultra High Brightness.

UHP is really a general description. Within the range there are lamps that deliver long life and others that burn brighter but for a shorter time. In general a higher wattage lamp will make a brighter image, though you can also drive them harder to increase the light output too.
