I see that north America is getting an update to the JVC RS1 in the shape of the RS1x. (adds better gamma controls maybe a couple of other refinements).

So will the UK see an update to the JVC HD1 with the same new/improved features? the RS1x is already shipping in the USA.

No news as yet on this unit coming to the UK AFAIK.

HD1x and Sony VW40 for that matter is all very quiet... Mentioned then both to a dealer recently and they hadn't heard anything.

I doubt we will see this model unless the HD1 is dropped.

AFAIK the HD1 is still marketed in the US along side the RS units. The channel setup appears different in that the US JVC pro dealers sell the RS range whilst consumer dealers sell the HD range. Elsewhere consumer and pro dealers just sell the HD range.

I did asked the JVC guys about the RS1X as Bristol but they didn't know it even existed. In fact they said I was confusing it with the HD100 until I pointed them in the direction of the JVC US website.
