is the Sagem HDD56B ntsc compatible?

i have a Sagem HDD56B ntsc compatible?
i chipped my dvd recorder so it now plays region 1 disks but the tv doesnt seem to like the output and goes all black and white and squiggly. is there any way of changing the settings of the tv so it will let me watch my region 1's?

Re: is the Sagem HDD56B ntsc compatible?

I have this Tv and play R1 (NTSC) DVDs on it all the time without problem

You need to play RGB out of your DVD player.
Going all squiggly means you are watching a composite or s-video connection (which can't play NTSC on a PAL Tv).

Either
Your player isn't playing RGB
Your SCART lead isn't RGB
You don't have your SCART lead plugged into the RGB SCART input of the Tv.
