IN 82 HDMI - no picture

I have had this PJ for about 2 months. In the last few days it has not been accepting feeds via hdmi. On 1080p sources it accepts the signal, but only the audio comes through the amp. The screen is just black. I have tried switching the hdmi DDC settings on and off(think this turns on/off the EDID handshake) and this makes no difference. I attempted to use an additonal source (hdmi dvd player) direct to the PJ using a different hdmi cable and the image just flicks on and off, without accepting the signal. Any ideas? Sorry to duplicate this thread, I'm in a bit of a panic and was (FINALLY) looking at channeling my cables!

Does the long cable to the projector work with 1080p from your source run direct to PJ?

If so, then perhaps the amp does not accept 1080p input.

If not you may have a faulty cable, or more likely a cable which was never designed to carry 1080p resolution. Try 1080i and see if it works (half the bandwidth). If so, you need to go out and buy a decent HDMi cable (and test again before chasing in LOL!).

Thanks for your suggestion. However, 1080p is fine via the same set up to my tv. In fact 1080p was superb on all dispays and sources up til yesterday. The fact of the matter is that despite using diffent cables and different routes to the hdmi input (via amp + splitter and direct to PJ), an image will not display. Again component is as good as always. I'm awaiting contact from infocus now. Cheers again
