With the onslought of digital photography one of the problems now faced by amateur enthusiasts is the poor performance of digital projectors when compared against conventional film slide projectors. In my camera club we made the move towards digital a couple of years ago, however the resulting projection of our digital images has been absolutely appalling. Images that look good on a laptop screen appear dreadful when projected on a digi projector. Whether it is the particular combination of laptop and projector that we are using that is responsible I don't know. We have some knowledgible techy folk in our club and even they are puzzled.

My question is, Is there a reasonably priced digi projector, i.e. less than £1k, which can match the performance of a £200 film projector ?
