Sony VPL HS10 Dropped Pixel

I am on my second HS10 and still have a dropped pixel, any one else got this problem, and how many are acceptable?

I have a VW10. It has a single bright pixel. I never see it in normal use. Even though I know where it is, and can just see it if I try hard. After all, it occupies a millionth of the area of the screen.

As to what's acceptable - to you, it may be 'none'. To a manufacturer, it is usually 'several' provided that they are not clustered together and/or not central. Each manufacturer has different 'rules' and Sony's rules aren't, to my knowledge, published anywhere.

But you will probably find a statement in the manual to the effect that some bright or dark spots are part of the manufacturing process and are not a malfunction.
