slow motion football on projector

For my second post, i'd like a bit of advice with watching football on my Optoma DV11. i've connected it up to my SKY box via a VGA cable, and the football looked good with a 2 meter diameter.. but when there were long shots and the camera moved quickly from one side of the pitch to the other it looked like it was in slow motion..
i guess it was losing frames or something

it's fine with fast moving DVDs, but it has a processor for that built in.. so is this something that can be fixed with some kind of processor attatchment? or just another cable other than VGA? the DV11 has these video inputs: VGA, S-Video, and Composite Video
