Is this a stupid question?

Hi. I have an Infocus IN76 which I love. I am wondering about buying an HDDVD player. As the projector only goes to 720 would the £200+ investment be worth it as my current upscaller is fantastic? Would the difference in picture quality be worth that investment? Thanks.....

Absolutely , the hddvd player will blow SD out of the water. Its also a pretty good upscaler anyway ( hddvd doesn't use regional coding however it will be region locked for dvd so you may want to keep the other dvd player).

You may find you lose interest in watching SD after seeing HD though.

Re: Is this a stupid question?

I'm very sceptical about the merits of high def, and needed some pursuading.

However, whilst I still feel the improvement on 'normal' sized displays is merely 'good', I think high def on a projector can be astonishing.

And my PJ is 720p.
