Thanks: Gave 5, Got 0 | First time i've been impressed by a projector!
I saw the infocus n82 at the Stuff show last week & I must say it was the first time that really thought about getting one. Of cause it was set up correctly but how do the others, in the same price band, or lower, compare to the quality?
I've set a time to upgrade in next 12 mounths so I'll be keeping that model as the bench mark for any others.

In 12 months everything will be different and that IN82 will probably cost close to the £1.5k mark, as the next years models will be out.
What did you particualrly like about the image, most projectors down to cheapo ones will produce an image that beats most flatscreen out there and for a fraction of the price, but they need a light controled room to get anywhere near the best perofmance out of them.

Well i've got a Panny 50HD8 with SkyHd, not bought into HD on dvd yet. Sometimes the pic is very good sometimes just ok with SkyHD.
The IN82 was in a 'semi' darkened room show Pirates Of The Carribbian on Blueray from a PS3.
The pic quality was far better than i've seen on my limited projector viewing in the past. The blacks were black, very sharp pic & very good colours.
I was just wouldering how the in82 compares to the new Panny, JVC & others in the price range, or any lower priced models.

See this. http://www.laskys.com/tv_and_dvd/pro..._xvz21000.html
The infocus is probably brighter, but the ZV21000 is Sharp's flagship projector which around £7K six months ago.
I'd expect the image thrown by the Sharp to be as good as the infocus machine (depending on set-up) all for anout £1800 if you sell on the free blu-ray player.
The only draw backs really with the Sharp is no confirmed support for 1080P24 and relatively high fan noise.

I have the IN81 (did not want to spend £500 on a chip to get the IN82) and the picture is great and im only useing an upscalling dvd player @ 720p.I cant wait to get a ps3 hooked up to it to get full hd with xv colour.
I must say the IN81 is very quite even when on for a while, nothing worse then trying to watch a film with an annoying hum above your head.
I have not set mine up that much yet but it did look very good, even straight out the box.

I have the in82 and it is a fantastic bit of kit. If you look around, you'll get it for close to 2.5K!
