Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I wasn't sure whether to post in the "Projectors" or "HD-DVD" part of the forum. I guess I'll soon be told!
Just had delivery of my new Toshiba HD-EP30 HD-DVD player and whereas I'm mostly impressed with it, I'm having trouble driving my projector properly. I currently have my PS3 and HD-EP30 connected to my Sony STR-DG910, which is in turn connected to my PT-AE900. Even though projector is only 720p it can accept 1080p/24 signals, which is how I drive it from the PS3 - the projector OSD confirms that that is the signal it is getting. However even if I set the Toshiba to "up to 1080/24p" mode the best the projector seems to receive is 1080i/50/60. It's almost as if it's doing some sort of EDID handshake (perhaps) but doesn't seem to allow 1080p/24.
I've swapped all the HDMI cables around and tried different combinations of HDMI IN on the amplifier, checking that each time the projector receives 1080p/24 from the PS3, so I'm certain the amplifier is fine and the cables are okay. I can drive the projector at 720p/60 from the HD-EP30 but it's annoying me that I can't replicate the way it's working with the PS3.
Any ideas? Is it possible to "lock" the HD-EP30 in 1080p/24 mode?
