Thats a pretty wide mark, its like saying whats the best sports car under £30k.

For an easy life i'd say LCD and the AX200 at £999 will see you well, or Z5 for about £600ish if your feeling a bit more thrifty and don't need as big a screen as its not as bright.

For my self the best for the price would be a dlp unit, the recently reduced in76 is £999, hd73 is arround the 1k mark and the hd70 is decent at £600 with free screen and other stuff.

These are all hd ready i.e. 720p and very good for the money, if you feel you need a 1080p model then you'll have to find some more money they start from about £1.5k.
