Re: Optoma HD720X

Hi p5yco

I'm sure I've seen this in the local PC World store. Had a quick look at the rear and could not see any digital inputs. I've noticed that they are advertising the HDMI connection as a HDMI interface. Could be an adpator. only comes with a two year warranty!

As for performance, Havent seen the two against each other. Would bet the HD70 is easily worth the extra money with thinking to hard though. 3 year warranty and plus the screen has to be worth the pound notes!

Regards. Shane.

Re: Optoma HD720X

The HD70 has 4000:1 Contrast Ratio. The HD720X has 2000:1.
the HD70 has a 3 year Hotswap warranty but the 720X has a 1 year Return to Base warranty.
Other than that, they are near enough the same unit with the same inputs.

Hope this helps.

Re: Optoma HD720X

AV Nik

The 720X doesn't appear to be listed on the Optoma site - or not that I can see anyway. Since it is basically a lower spec'd HD70 would the replacement bulb for the HD70 fit a 720X?

Actually, I'm just looking at your site and have seen something that interests me.

Re: Optoma HD720X

I'm very interested in this projector but feel a bit suspicions since I haven't found a single person who owns this pj.

Does anyone knows of someone who owns this?
My concern lies on the black levels as well..

Thanks,

Re: Optoma HD720X

If i was lookimng i'd get the HD70 as it seems well better, and the extras you get make the prices almost even anyway.

are you sure about this ?

http://www.filron.com/uk/index.php?a...roductId=28202
http://www.filron.com/uk/index.php?a...roductId=28201

this company seems to show different lamps with different model numbers for the hd720x and the hd70.... Be nice if you could use the Hd70 ones as they are 70 quid cheaper...

Im quite tempted by this projector as its 530 pounds with an 80 inch screen on dabs.com at the moment.... Seems to represent good value for money.

Edit: i have also noticed that a couple of the sites offering the hd720x seem to be saying that it has a 2 year warranty (pixmania and dabs) as opposed to the 1 year mentioned above.

Re: Optoma HD720X

Seperate sound, some pj's have build in sound but in general they ain't worth bothering with. The projector is just the display, like a monitor on a computer.
A cheap all in one (home cinema in a box) can be had at less than the £100 mark, a good one will cost £200+ and a seperates system is a case of how much money do you have.
