Re: infocus 4805 svideo and pc

It would be helpful if you could list what actual model of graphics card it is to be sure....but the various options are....

VGA to M1: You need to buy a VGA to M1 lead, plug the VGA in to the NVidia card and the M1 end in to the Projectors M1 port (looks similar to DVI input but slightly different). Or you can buy a VGA to VGA lead and buy a VGA-M1 adapter.

DVI to M1: as above, either buy a DVI-M1 lead or DVI-DVI and get a DVI-M1 adapter, if the Infocus website doesnt have any in stock, try Lindy's online store. Again its as simple as plugging the DVI end in to the graphics card and the M1 end in to the Projector.

If your graphics card has VGA outputs only (usually blue colour) then you need to do the VGA-M1 route.....if your card has DVI outputs (usually white colour) then you can go either DVI-VGA adapter, VGA-M1 cable (or DVI-VGA adapter, VGA-VGA cable then VGA-M1 adapter), or you can go the simple all digital route with DVI-M1 (or DVI-DVI, then use DVI-M1 adapter)

you can then set your PC to match the projectors resolution.....the s-video output normally only outputs bog standard TV res and quality which wont show a Windows Desktop image very well......however some of the s-video outputs on video cards are also HDTV capable, but to be honest its better to go the VGA or DVI route in to the M1 port on the PJ.....It still wont be amazing at the Projector only has a NTSC widescreen resolution, but it should be a fair bit better than s-video connection...
